Who is this guy?
As I stated in my Intro, I’m a front-end-focused software engineer based in Colorado. When I’m not at my computer, you can probably find me doing something outdoors—skiing, hiking, cycling, running, or road-tripping around the mountains and deserts of my beautiful home state.
Or, if the weather isn’t being cooperative, you may find me exploring a new restaurant or recipe, catching up on the latest series, jamming in my basement on my guitar or bass, or getting lost in a good book or video game.
That’s me and my shih-tzu Wookie in Brooklyn, ca. 2015. She passed away in 2018 at the ripe age of 17, but lives on in memory. Since June 2020, we’ve been raising the sweetest, goofiest pit bull/German Shepherd/boxer mix named Brody.
What’s with all the Iceland videos?
In 2019 I embarked on an epic road trip in Iceland and took a ton of photos and slow-motion videos that I hadn’t had a use for yet. They serve as a nice visual reminder of one of my favorite pre-pandemic adventures.
Why Colorado?
As an ex-New Yorker, I get asked all the time: why did you willingly leave one of the greatest cities on Earth?
The short version: I burnt out on city life.
The slightly longer version: joining a fully-distributed company gave me the rare opportunity to choose my location, independent of my livelihood. In 2016 my wife and I took a chance on a place we had loved visiting in the past, and we haven’t looked back.
Here’s a photo of Great Sand Dunes National Park that I shot on 120 film during my very first visit to Colorado, in 2012.
